In accordance with the AML Act, gambling operators must have written business procedures on prevention, mitigation, and management of risks of money laundering and financing of terrorism. On 5 December, the Danish Gambling Authority will focus on this subject at a webinar.

Gambling operators must comply with the EU’s sanctions regarding freezing of assets. Freezing of assets means that it is prohibited to make funds and assets directly or indirectly available to individuals who are subject to the EU’s sanctions.

Danes’ gambling spend decreased in September 2024 compared with the same month last year. Data from the Danish Gambling Authority shows that the spending on online casino increased, while on betting, gaming machines and land-based casino it fell.
